Chief Operations Officer
Veta Holt serves as the COO of the church.
Veta Holt is a native of Dallas, Texas. Veta gave her life to the Lord and was baptized at 6 years old at True Lee Missionary Baptist Church, Dallas Texas. She has always been active in church and served in many ministries. Her favorite verse for this season of her life is Ephesians 3: 20-21 “Now unto him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”
Veta has been a member of Friendship West Baptist Church since 1987. She has served as Trustee since 1988. In August 2007, she joined the staff of Friendship-West as the Chief Operating Officer where she oversees the Accounting, Legal, Audio/Visual, Communications, Information Technology, Project Management and Facilities Departments. Veta is an Executive Board Member of the Women of the West Ministry. She oversees the Finance and Investment Ministry (FAIM) and Security Ministry. She services on the Board Of Directors as Vice President of the Faith Cooperative Federal Credit Union.
Veta is a life member of the Texas Southern University National Alumni Association (TSUNAA). At the National level she serves as Chairman of the Emergency Scholarships Fund and is a member of the Finance Committee. At the local level she is President of the TSUNAA, Dallas Chapter.
Veta was the first recipient of the Alumni of the Year from the Dallas Chapter in 2004. In 2017, Veta received the Crown Award for Economics from the “Women of the West” at Friendship-West Baptist Church, the Excellence In Achievement Award in Business from the T.S.U.N.A.A., and the Empowerment Award from the National Council for Negro Women Inc., Suburban Dallas/ Desoto Section. In 2018, Veta received the Women of Excellence Award from the RTM Group Services and recently on June 23, 2019, Veta received the Excellence in Dedication and Hard Work Award from the Texas Southern University National Alumni Association-Dallas Alumni Chapter.
Veta received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Texas Southern University, Houston Texas. Her career chronicles companies such as the Dallas Morning News, Accor, and Brinker International where she managed accounting departments.
Veta is married to Sterling Holt. They have been married for 38 years.
