PURPOSE & VISION
The vision of our worship team is to maintain a musical ministry of excellence, create and introduce an inviting worship experience, develop innovative and relevant methods of praise and worship that is conducive to our culture as well as, become mentors to the youth (praise team) and prepare them for leading worship in the main sanctuary.
It is our belief that the praise and worship team is a vital part to the ministry of this body of believers at Friendship-West. The Praise & Worship team is also a major component of the music ministry and the worship arts community. In addition to fulfilling the vision of the church and the vision of the Praise & Worship Ministry, it is also important that we align with the larger plan for the overall worship arts community at the church. That plan includes preparing the atmosphere for worship and reverence of God. We believe that worship is a lifestyle and something that encompasses the totality of everyday life. The result of this belief eventuates into a worship experience that is powerful, intentional, and transformative.

Members of this team should view their position as ministers of the gospel through music and song. Those who serve on the Praise & Worship team, therefore, should view their role as a calling from God. Membership on the Praise Team (in any way) is a position of Christian leadership. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24) Membership on the Friendship-West Praise & Worship Team begins with the completion of the church’s New Member Orientation class. Upon graduation, a liaison will connect you with the Director of Praise & Worship in order to schedule an audition. Prior to the audition, an application will be submitted which provides pertinent contact information as well as a description of prior musical background, skills, and training. If the auditionee is accepted, the praise team administrative assistant will confirm with a welcome email, Praise Team Handbook, virtual celebration with teammates, ministry calendar, song database.
